DPS MIS WINS QATAR DEBATE SAQR LEAGUE TOURNAMENT

DPS Modern Indian School once again consolidated its reputation of being ace debaters when three teams from this school came out on top after four rigorous rounds of debating with some of the best schools in Doha. The team comprising Shaishav Shah, Pavithra Manghaipathy and Omar Sultan were declared the best team whereas Pavithra took the best speaker  individual Trophy.

The three teams of DPSMIS were ranked number one in the tournament based on their combined wins. Omar sultan was ranked 4th,Yuvaraj Singh bagged 9th position, Shaishav 12th and Aamir Shams 13th among the top 15 speakers of the tournament.

The other speakers who contributed to the school’s ranking are Soundarya, Eman Zabi and Rehab Nainar. The students’ critical thinking skills were put to the test on a variety of topics such as anorexia, celebrity privacy, advertisements aimed at kids and banning of torture. Abhilasha Saini and Afreen Rahman, two class XI students also trained as judges.The school coach Naaz Hafiz expressed satisfaction that her team of debaters could contend with the best in Doha or anywhere else in the world. The school principal Santosh Mattu congratulated the students on their wonderful performance.
