DPS-MIS Shines in Inter-school Shantiniketan Indian School Science Exhibition

DPS-MIS secured second position in the overall tally and first place among the Indian schools in the inter-school environmental exhibition hosted by Santhinikethan school recently. The exhibition focused on environmental issues and solutions.

High oil prices, concern of exhaustion of fossil fuels, effects of fossil fuel burning on earth, etc made Aditya Dinesh Nair-  X A, Jacob John Johnson - X A, Deeksha Singh - X B, Aditya Vinayak Chaturvedi –XB and Karan Rakesh- XA to think of a new concept namely” ALGOIL”- THE MAGICAL GREEN FUEL FROM ALGAE”. Under the guidance of Mr. K. A. Saju, they came up with an excellent working model which was rated as “the inevitable technology of the future” by everyone.

Intensive farming using modern techniques will definitely increase the yield, but what will be its long standing impacts on environment? Synthetic chemicals may spread far beyond the fields where they are applied and have unintended consequences. As an attempt to combat these burning issues, RAJVARDHAN  SINGH - IX B,  DHRUV RELWANI - IX B,   and ADITYA KOHLI-  IXC under the guidance of  Mrs. Bonhi Chatterjee, presented a project namely, “ORGANIC FARMING USING CLEANER AND GREENER ENERGY” which was appreciated by everyone for its feasibility and economic viability.

The Coordinator of General Science, Ms. Soma Bhattacharya, provided valuable suggestions and all supports for the successful completion of the projects.  The Principal Ms. S. Mattu expressed her happiness and satisfaction on the overall performance of the students in the science exhibition.
