DPS MIS SHINES AT 10th MEDICAL EXHIBITION
 

Doha: DPS Modern Indian School once again consolidated its reputation by grabbing the top honours, against some of the best schools in Doha, at the 10th Free Medical Camp organized by Indian Islamic Association Qatar (IIAQ) and Indian Medical Association’s (IMA) Qatar Chapter on 8th April 2011, at Tarek bin Zayed Independent School, Wakra.


DPS students showed off their mettle in the IT exhibit with a spectacular presentation on ‘Over Nutrition’ which got them the First Prize in the IT Presentation Competition. The participants in this category were Sejal Kumar, Dibyadeep Halder, Pritika Raja, Ahmed Hussaini, Sai Vignesh, Gargi Palwankar, Gowri Radhakrishnan and Gurpreet Khera, all students of class 12th.


Further, Snigdha Kamal, Serajum Monira and Pooja Parashar bagged the First Position in Poster-Making Competition. The poster, a product of diligent hard work and undeniable effort by the students, demonstrated the ‘negative aspects of smoking’. It stood out like a rose in a gathering of lilies, thus easily being the best there was in the hall. With eye catchy colours and abstract art, the poster was sure to impress.

Apart from this, Pritika Raja, showed great skill with the pen and was awarded the Second Prize in the Essay Writing Competition for seniors for her informative essay on the topic ‘Aspects of a Medicine-Free Life’.


The other exhibits which contributed to the school’s success were the models on ‘Obesity-Related Morbidity’ which alongside the student’s speaking skills were highly appreciated by the judges. The students who represented the school in the Model-Making Competition were Omar Sultan, Yuvaraj Singh, Suravi Das, Rehab Nainar, Pooja Parashar and Priyadarshini.


The School’s Biology Coordinator, Ms Soma Bhattacharjee, rejoiced at the sheer brilliance of her team of Class 12 students who at the end of the day stole the show. The school acting principal, Ms Asna Nafes , congratulated the students on their wonderful performance.
