DPS – MIS wins Carnegie Mellon High School Programming Competition

At the High School Programming Competition held at Carnegie Mellon University on 26th March, 2011, DPS – MIS came up trumps for the second consecutive year. The contest had 16 teams vying for top honors. Teams of 2 or 3 individuals were given a set of 8 programming problems to solve in C, C++ or Java. All the questions were interestingly woven around Qatar’s hosting of the 2022 Soccer World Cup.

After the stipulated 4 hours, Team Analog from DPS – MIS comprising of Nikhilesh S., Siddharth Malhotra and Savinay Nangalia and coached by T. V. Thomas had solved 6 of the programming problems. Qatar Academy and The American School, Doha came in second and third place respectively, with 5 solved problems. The students and teachers appreciated the initiatives taken by Carnegie Mellon University to nurture a spirit of competitive programming and computer skills in the region.
