The high school students of DPS-Modern Indian School were privileged to have World Champion Speaker Mark Brown in their midst on Wednesday, 11.5.2011. The renowned orator spoke on a number of issues that concern our youth with humour and insight. He had the young audience mesmerized with his oratory and knowledge.

Nationally acclaimed youth speaker Mark Brown has dedicated his career to getting inspirational messages out to young people all over North America. Mark Brown is a dynamic speaker who leaves his audiences entertained, uplifted, and inspired. Originally from Kingston, Jamaica, he incorporates “everyday things of life” into his powerful presentations. Among his accomplishments are a 1995 Harlem YMCA Black Achievers Award and a 1999 Emmy nomination for the PBS special “Words Count with Mark Brown.” In 1995, he won Toastmasters International’s World Championship of Public Speaking, emerging first in a field of more than 20,000 entrants.

The students of DPS-MIS presented a special assembly for Mr. Mark Brown. Mr. Saquib Raza Khan, Area Governor, Area 43, Division E, District 79, Toastmasters International, was the Guest of Honour.

Senior school Activity Coordinator Mou Bera welcomed the guests and introduced the champion speaker. As a token of gratitude and appreciation, Acting Principal Asna Nafees presented mementos to Mr. Mark Brown and Mr. Saquib Raza Khan.
