DPS-MIS wins Qatar Debate Saqr League | ||||
Doha: DPS Modern Indian School once again consolidated its reputation of being ace debaters when four teams from this school came out on top after four rigorous rounds of debating with some of the best schools in Doha.The tournament was held on march26th at Al Rayyan independent school. The team comprising Soundharya Krishnan, Shruthi Srinivas and Eman Zabi was declared the best team whereas Eman bagged the best speaker individual Trophy. |

The four teams of DPS-MIS were ranked number one in the tournament based on their combined wins. Soundharya Krishnan was ranked 3rd, Shruthi Srinivas bagged the 4th position, Rehab Nainar 8th and Pranav Karthik 9th among the top 15 speakers of the tournament. Apart from this, Sonali Tiwari, Haritha Ramadorai and Shahnaz Baji managed to get the 13th, 14th and 15th ranks, respectively, and as a team won three of the four rounds. |

The other speakers who contributed to the school’s ranking are Imran Gaffur, Serajum Monira, Shaikh Sarwar and Vijay Bhardwaj. The students’ critical thinking skills were put to the test on a variety of topics such as democracy in the Arab world, gender equality, the concept of national sovereignty and personal identity and an impromptu topic on parental responsibility. |

Class XII student, Omar Sultan, was also trained as a judge.Two teachers from the school Anuradha Pandit and Mohsin Khan officiated as judges. The school coach Naaz Hafiz rejoiced at the sheer brilliance of her team of debaters who could contend with the best in Doha or anywhere else in the world. DPSMIS were declared the number one school of the year in SAQR league. The school principal Santosh Mattu has congratulated the students on their wonderful performance. | ||||
