36 students of DPS MODERN INDIAN SCHOOL participated in the Qatar Model United Nations (QMUN) held at Qatar Academy recently. This year over 600 delegates of 23 state and international schools representing 91 countries participated in the conference. The conference brings together young people and explores issues in a simulation of the United Nations General Assembly. The event was a splendid mix of various nationalities, culture and innovative ideas. There was never a dull moment on any of the three days, as the delegates were deeply engaged in debating, meeting people, or just having fun. Euthanasia, Police Brutality, Palestine, E-waste were a few of the many burning topics discussed in different committees. Students made good the splendid opportunity to enhance their debating skills and improve on their diplomatic methods in order to convince delegates and win their support. Many made new friends in this process. The Opening & Closing Ceremonies, Social night, Dinners and the Cultural Event - all made the QMUN conference a memorable experience. Master Dhruv Relwani was judged as the Best Male Delegate of the Human Rights Committee. | ||||
