FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK

The  Social- Studies and Commerce Department

My congratulations to the Social - Studies and Commerce departments for the excellent display of a variety of models, working models, projects and charts put up by their students for the second Social-Studies and the first Commerce Exhibition.  I have seen my young, motivated, energetic and committed team of teachers and students spending hours for a number of days putting the exhibits together.  Clearly teachers’ enthusiasm and passion for their subject has motivated students to research, innovate and create.

I believe that quality education converts the mind into a living and working fountain and not a reservoir which can be only mechanically filled in and filled out – it was evident by the manner the students were knowledgably and confidently interacting with the visitors that they knew their facts well. Pride in our heritage, respect for environment and awareness about the global issues in the objective of Social Science and when students “do”, they learn the most!!

Kudos to the Social Studies Department under the guidance of their very motivated and committed coordinator Ms. Shibanti, Headmistress (Junior School) for putting up a fantastic display.  My appreciations for Ms. Shaloo whose hard work and initiative made it possible for her students to put up their first exhibition.  I am highly impressed by their innovative work.

I wish to convey to all of you that the Chief-Guest and the team of learned & experienced teachers from the three reputed Indian Schools conveyed to me their congratulations and appreciation for all of you.  They identified some projects which they felt were ‘amazing’, ‘astonishingly-innovative’ ‘very informative’ ‘aesthetically fascinating’, ‘eye –catching’.  They were very impressed with our students who they said are well informed, their concepts are very clear and they have in depth comprehension of the topics undertaken.

As usual, my heart swells with pride when I see my students and teachers do well, doubly so when outsiders in DPS-MIS team!!.

Well-done! Keep it up!
