DPS-MIS BIDS FAREWELL TO INDIAN AMBASSADOR HE MRS. DEEPA GOPALAN WADHWA

The Management and Staff of DPS-Modern Indian School bid farewell to the Indian Ambassador, HE MRS. DEEPA GOPALAN WADHWA at a glittering function held at the Al Sharq Village Hotel, Doha, Qatar, on the 20th of June, 2012. The function was attended by the Indian Ambassador, Diplomats of the Indian Embassy, Executive Management Council of the school, community leaders and key functionaries of the school.
School Principal Ms. Asna Nafees welcomed the gathering. A floral bouquet was presented to the Ambassador by Ms. G. Mala, Vice Principal (Junor Wing).  Mr. Hasan Chougule, President, DPS-MIS, felicated the Indian Ambassador. He shared his experiences highlighting the Ambassador’s warmth and consistent pragmatic support to the school. Mr. Sonny Varghese, Director Public Relations, spoke on the occasion and underlined the positive impact made by the Ambassador in fostering an empathetic relationship between the Indian Embassy and the Indian diaspora in Qatar.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the DEEPA WADHWA ACHIEVER AWARD to DPS-MIS student ABHIPRAY SAHOO for being the ‘Student with a Difference’. Staring 2012, this special award - which has been constituted by DPS-MIS in the honour of the Indian Ambassador HE MRS. DEEPA GOPALAN WADHWA - will be awarded to a DPS-MIS student who has consistently demonstrated remarkable qualities in terms of respect towards school and peers, leadership, compassion and consistent achievements in academic and cocurricular activities.

During the function, the M. KANJANI TOPPER AWARD was presented to DPS-MIS student Ankita Shankar Singh, for getting the highest marks (95.6%) in the recently conducted CBSE Grade 12 examinations.

HE MRS. DEEPA GOPALAN WADHWA shared her feelings on the occasion with her trademark grace and eloquence. She commended the school for its achievements and spoke highly of the school’s commitment towards all-round excellence.

Mr. Yasir Nainar, Vice President, DPS-MIS proposed the vote of thanks. On behalf of the school, he expressed gratitude to all those who had made the evening a memorable one. Ms. Mou Bera, Coordinator Activities, anchored the programme which concluded with a lively photo session and sumptuous dinner.
