Workshop on Argument and Refutation by Qatar Debate 2022-23

Qatar Debate conducted an online workshop on ‘Argument & Refutation ‘on 9th February 2023. The Resource Person was Ms. Saara Almaadeed.

Saara, Sharvi Patwardhan, Vidhi Jadav, Aarav Singh, Amir Nawaz Razvi Syed, Ishan Datta, Venkata Sai, Surya Kauthik Basangi, Aryaman Adhlakha , Adrija Bhattacharya along with Ms. Jaya Majumder from DPS Modern Indian School participated and engaged themselves in constructive discussion during the session and shared their perspectives on several matters and issues.

During the workshop, the debaters learned about the anatomy of an argument which involved assertion, reasoning, evidence and impact. PowerPoint presentations, actual-world examples, and interactive exercises were used to delve deep into the subject. Stakeholder analysis, micro and macro views (individual-community), long-term and short-term ideas, the problem-solution-outcome strategy, and other related variables and concepts that flank the topic were also explored, tackled and extensively explained.

The debaters' efforts to learn and develop stronger methods for speculating ,thinking fundamental reasoning and persuasion skills were stimulated through various activities.
