Middle School Science Club Earth Day Activities 2024-25
“We are on Earth to take care of life, We are on Earth to take care of each other”.
Earth Day celebration is an annual event that brings people together to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices. It serves as a reminder of the importance of protecting our planet and taking action to preserve its natural resources. During Earth Day celebrations, the Science Club Middle school engaged the students of Grade VI-VIII with activities that serves as a powerful platform for fostering environmental consciousness and encouraging collective efforts towards a greener future.
The activity conducted for Grade VI was To make a bird feeder with recycled materials. It was an individual activity that enhanced creativity and problem solving skills through the design and construction of a bird feeder. The aim of the activity was to promote empathy and compassion towards wildlife by providing food and shelter for birds. The students showed their participation with enthusiasm and displayed their creative ideas
The students of Grade VII-VIII were engaged with activity To make a flip book on the topic ‘Save Earth. It was a group activity, each group prepared a flip book with drawings or pictures of human activities that contributes in saving planet Earth. Through this hands-on activity, students explored various themes such as recycling, energy conservation, wildlife preservation, and sustainable living practices. As they worked on their flipbooks, students expressed their creativity, shared their ideas, and deepened their understanding of environmental issues. This activity not only encouraged active participation and collaboration but also empowered the students to become advocates for a greener and more sustainable future.
