DPS – Modern Indian School Children Have Fruitful Interaction With

A special assembly was conducted at DPS-MIS on June 19, 2013 in the honour of Chief Guest, Mr.Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE-India and Special Guest, Dr.Sadhana Parashar, Professor and Director Academics, Head (Research,Training and Innovation). It was also graced by EC members, Vice President-Mr. Yasir Nainar, Director Finance-Mr. George Thomas, Director Administration-Harish Kanjani, Director Public Relations- Mr. Sonny Varghese, other guests and the students of class IX and X. The session began with a prayer by Master Gandharv Nagrani(VI H), followed by a Thought for the Day by Ms. Shubhra Bedi (VIII-B) which was elucidated by Master Prathemesh Mehra ( VIII-A).The middle school choir presented the school song reflecting the ideals, aims and aspirations of DPS-MIS, thereafter they mesmerized the audience with a melodious Indian Classical Tarana.
Principal, Ms.Asna Nafees welcomed the esteemed guests and said that Mr. Joshi and Dr. Parashar are deeply involved in bringing effective reforms in the educational pedagogy for making the learning stress free and fruitful. She thanked them for accepting the invitation and visiting the school.
Chief Guest Mr. Vineet Joshi, Chairman, CBSE- India whose major initiative is the introduction of CCE(Continuous and Comprehensive Evalution) and its implementation in the right spirit and Special Guest Dr.Sadhana Parashar, Head Innovation and Research at CBSE-India who has a keen interest in curriculum reform, teacher empowerment and testing and assessment practices in secondary education, had an interactive session with class IX and X students. They answered to all of their queries related to PSA, CCE and Assessment system of CBSE aptly, reasonably and satisfactorily.
The program was anchored by Ms. Nimra Siddiqui (VIII-H) and Master Sidarth Menon (VIII-H).It was coordinated by Ms. Mou Bera Senior Wing Activity coordinator.
The function ended with the National Anthem.
