Victoria Honoridez of
DPS Modern Indian School participated in a panel discussion regarding the War
on Drugs in India, hosted by Vijaybhoomi University, on 16th October
2021 via zoom
Victoria, along with
four other students different colleges
and high schools across India, discussed on the drug trafficking in India with
the focus on: Should we have punitive punishments for drug users? Should drugs
be legalized? Is India capable of winning the drug war?
The students also spent
time analyzing the influence of media in the drug scene, debunking power
asymmetry in governments for scapegoating, as well as contesting current social
narratives on drug use, and drawing conclusions from other similar issues such
as alcoholism.
