DPS - MIS-Doha - Junior Activities : April - 2010 - 2011

:: Spain Trip

An international trip has become the Annual feature for the students of DPS-MIS. After the hectic and grueling exam schedule, a group of 62 students and seven teachers left for Spain on 26th of March, 2010 on an educational cum excursion trip.

Spain located in the Iberian Peninsula is a country in western Europe famous for its colourful bull fights, beautiful castles, historic cities, spectacular beaches, superb old buildings, from Roman aqueducts and Islamic palaces to Gothic cathedrals

:: Class 1 - Colouring On The Spot Activity

At the commencement of the academic year 2010-2011, Class-I started off on 18th April with ‘COLOURING ON THE SPOT ACTIVITY’ the children enjoyed filling in colours of animal pictures on their activity sheets and it was indeed a fun and colourful day for them.

Earth Day Celebration by Class I

As the whole world celebrates earth day on 22 April, so we too, the teachers and students of Class-I paid homage to our mother earth by conducting the morning assembly on 29 April 2010.

The message ‘GIVE EARTH A CHANCE’ was portrayed in a skit enacted by the teachers to educate the children on the significance of our planet and the ways of caring for it. To create more awareness of the THREE R’S- REUSE, REDUCE.RECYCLE, the children coloured the symbolic sign during the school hours.

:: Rhythmic Camaraderie - Class Prep

As said, ‘Well begun is half done’ students of Prep began their session with a group activity Rhythmic Camaraderie. All the children danced and exercised together and took the opportunity to mingle with other Prep children. Tiny tots along with their respective class teachers, games teacher and dance teacher sang rhymes, did physical exercises and danced to some popular foot tapping numbers. It was an activity full of action and fun. This helped them to be comfortable in their new classes with their new teacher and friends.

:: Painting Competition, 2010 organized by Friends of Thrissur

5th inter Indian School Painting Competition, 2010 organized by Friends of Thrissur, on Friday, 23rd April, 2010 at M.E.S Indian School, Doha. Around 2000 plus students participated from 7 Indian schools all over from Qatar. DPS- Modern Indian School declared overall winner in the painting competition.

:: Fun Around the Campus- Nursery

5th April 2010 was a memorable day for Nursery Children as it was their first day in school.

"SHIGGER" our nursery Mascot warmly welcomed all the tiny tots as they stepped into school to start their journey towards education.
The first two days were filled with lots of interaction between teachers and students. Activities like rhymes and colouring were introduced.

:: Magic of Colours - Class II

The theme for this year’s “On the spot colouring activity” for the students of Class – II was “Animal Kingdom”. It was held on 5th April 2010. It was the first activity for the new academic year. Different pictures were given to the students for colouring for eg: rabbit, frog, deer, giraffe, elephant etc...
