Winners CBSE Qatar Cluster Tennis Tournament

TENNIS:

Manthan Trivedi (class X) participated and won the Al-Khor Oil and Gas Open Tennis Tournament 2006 in Boys under 18 category.
He also bagged First Runner up Trophy in Mens singles category in the same tournament.

Lizera Valany Vaz also bagged Third Place in All Goa First Ladies Open Tennis Tournament held in Goa. There were participants from both Goa and abroad.

Tennis Teams won three categories, out of four, in CBSE Qatar Cluster Tennis Tournament .
Under 14 Girls – Divita Kulshrestha , Nida Imtiaz VIII and Abeer Islam VII.
Under 19 Girls - Alia Zimsia Nazer X and Lizera Valany Vaz VII.
Under 19 Boys – Manthan Trivedi X and Pradeep Krishnakumar IX

Fahad Farooq V - B participated in Al Ghazal Club Tennis Tournament 2007 and was awarded a Trophy.

SWIMMING:

Four students (Shubha Ramakrishnan of VIII A, Naintara Viswanathan of VIII, Aditya Dagar of IX and Sandeep Vasudevan of XII) represented the school in the CBSE Gulf Zone Swimming Competition

Shumaila Shaikh V, won Tidal waves Junior Swimming Squad Competition.
- Farha Naved Khan V, won Tidal Waves Junior Swimming Squad Competition.
- Hari Ananthraman V and Krishnamoorthi Venkatachalam VIII, bagged swimmer of the Month Trophy for their commendable performance in Tidal Waves Swimming Squad.

-Krishnamoorthi Venkatachalam bagged Third position in 50metres Back Stroke in the Qatar Open Swimming championship organized by Qatar Swimming Association.

CRICKET TEAM HONOURED

DPS-Modern Indian School cricket team were presented two sets of cricket kits sponsored by Mohd. Jaber Hussain Trading Co. W.L.L. (Brook Bond) at a function held in the school recently. Mr. Sunio Yerandekar, Manager of the company handed over the two sets of cricket kits to DPS-MIS Principal Mrs. S Mattu and Mr. S Patra, sports incharge.
Also present for the occasion were DPS-MIS President Mr. M I Farid and the cricket team of the School, Sports in charge Mr. Shashi Shekhar Patra who had earlier attended ACC Level Two coaching course in Singapore from Oct. 29 to Nov. 4, 2006. Archit Sinha (XI) captain of the school cricket team represented Qatar National Squad for u-15 Gulf Cup in Bahrain, u-15 ACC cup in UAE and u-17 Acc Cup in Malaysia, while Dean D’Souza (X) and Pradeep Krishnakumar (IX) are in the 18 members cap for Challenge Cup to be held in December 2006 to Thailand
