DPS-MODERN INDIAN SCHOOL (DPS-MIS) has an efficient transport system which is supervised by Qatar Transport Authority trained bus Supervisors and headed by the Transport Executive. We have fully equipped, well maintained school buses for students’ transport .The buses operate inside and outside the city, providing safe, efficient and timely bus facility to our students. As every child’s comfort is our priority, our trained staff takes utmost care to give the children safe journey to and from school. DPS-MIS has well trained drivers and bus attendants in all the buses to help the students.
An exclusive vehicle work shop takes care of the maintenance of school buses including air-conditioning in the bus. All safety equipment, as specified, is being provided inside the bus [Fire extinguishers, first aid box etc.] The Bus staff are given training on a continuous basis to reinforce the importance of the students’ safety while they are in the school buses, for example, the importance of wearing seat belt while the bus is on the move. A daily attendance sheet is maintained in the bus with students’ details and parents’ contact numbers in it.
Bus movement in the campus is strictly monitored with the help of the transport supervisor and support staff. The Transport Executive is responsible for training and day to day monitoring of the duties of the support staff. DPS-MIS has a school bus policy and a field trip policy; a ready reckoner detailing the objectives and responsibilities while the students are in the bus and while on a field trip. Arrival, Dispersal etc. are monitored and the school has given high priority on safety and security of the children in the buses and in campus.
1. The students are expected to wear their bus/ID cards regularly.
2. At the time of boarding, please ensure that your child does not move towards the bus until it comes to a complete stand still.
3. Parents are requested to bring their wards to the bus pick-up point in time and make provision to receive them in time, at the time of Drop-off.
4. School buses will bring students back to school in case parent is not there to receive students in their respective stop.
5. Students are not allowed to stand or run in the bus while travelling.
6. Chewing gum is not allowed while travelling in the school bus.
7. Changes in Pick-up or Drop-off points will be accepted only on prior written permission. Kindly send a note to the administrative office.
8. The school holds the right to request students not to use the transport in case of misbehavior in the bus. Use of foul language will be treated as a serious misconduct.
9. Instructions by the Teachers travelling in the bus should be strictly followed.
10. The bus attendants and the drivers are fully authorized to guide your child inside the bus as well as report to the school office if your child is not following the above guidelines. The school will not allow such students to travel
in the bus.
At the outset,
we express our profound gratitude to all our parents for their
continued support and
cooperation through this period of the
Covid-19 pandemic. As part of the measures taken to face the
challenges caused by the current pandemic, the school has reviewed
and updated the Transport Fee policy for the Academic Year 2021-22.
Accordingly, we would like to inform the parents that the transport
service for the Academic Year 2021-22 can be provided to the
students based on the below mentioned terms & conditions only:-
(1) Transport facility is only an optional service provided by DPS-MIS,
especially during this period of the pandemic (as a response to the
growing demand from the parents to resume the transport service to
enable the smooth functioning of the blended learning with 50%
attendance).
(2) Transport Policy has to
be accepted by the parent, in case the transport service is
required, or else the service cannot be provided.
(3) Transport Fee over dues (if any) for Academic Year 2021-22 has to be
fully paid before requesting the service for new Academic Year
2021-22, else the service would not be provided.
(4) Transport Fee has to be paid for Academic Year 2021-22, along with
the tuition fees, else transport services would not be provided.
(5) In
case of discontinuation of transport during the term, after opting
for the same, and fail to pay transport fees, it would be
automatically adjusted against any subsequent fee payment made by
the parent, regardless of whether the transport service has
been used on any day during the term. Kindly note that, once the
transport fee is generated, student becomes liable to pay the same
for that term.
(6) In case of cancellation of the
transport after the payment of the transport fee, the same would not
be refunded or adjusted or carried forward to the next term,
regardless of whether the transport service has been availed on any
day during the term.
(7) If a parent wishes to change the residence area(zone) from Inside Wakra to Outside Wakra during the academic year, the changes in the transport fees will be calculated with effect from the current term itself, and the same will not adjusted or carried forward to the next term.. (Please note that before applying for any route change, kindly confirm with transport Department about the availability of service/seat in that particular route, else the route change would not be provided).
